Home Stay

We spent two weeks with a Tanzanian family.  This was an experience of a lifetime.  We were placed in pairs with a family.  We lived with this family and learned their culture.  My family consisted of a father, a mother, two daughters, three cousins, one uncle, and a friend.  With all these people, we lived in a house the size of three dorms rooms the size of Markley.

The is the view of the ally to our home.

We walked through these large metal gates everyday for work or going to town.

Our bedroom was basically a bed.  We had just enough floor space to maneuver in and out of the room.

This is our bathroom, where we had no running water.  This was also our shower room, where we took bucket showers with water heated up over a fire.

The is the main walk into our home.

I thought cooking at home was difficult, but we have it easy in the US with our stoves and sinks.

I will never complain about washing cloths at home again after hand washing all my cloths.

The first picture is with our father and the second one is of our two sisters and uncle.
